Proton therapy is an FDA-cleared treatment that allows physicians to deliver a beam of protons directly to the tumor, destroying cancer cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissues. While proton therapy may not be appropriate for every patient and their cancer type, it should be discussed as a treatment option with your doctor.
